MASTER BATH RESTORE

I’m so excited to show you what we’ve done in our master bathroom!  We have put some sweat equity into this room.

Here is what it looked like before:

Carpet in Bathroom

It was pretty nasty.  Fuzzy pink carpet, striped wall paper, leaking and moldy shower.  This place had obviously been a bit neglected.

Brandon ripped out the carpet and stained the concrete floors underneath.  The wall paper was removed and it revealed some grossness that had been hidden underneath.  All around the shower, water had been leaking so the drywall was rotten and molded.  It had to be taken out and replaced.

When I first met Brandon, he had actually never used the shower or tub in the master bath, even though he’d lived there for about 5 years.  It was that big of a gross job.

Because I had not had my own master bath in many years, I made it a priority to get this job done.  This room had such potential to be a great private space for us!

We made a long list of to-dos and slowly crossed them off, one by one.  The walls, cabinetry, and trim were all painted.  The tub and shower got some serious deep cleaning.

The toilet got moved from it’s resting place in the closet to where it actually belongs.  (That was a weekend project with the help of the boys, who thought it was cool and weird to have the toilet in the living room as we got it set up.)

We replaced the sink faucets and added some much-needed hardware around the room.

Not everything is crossed off of the list yet, but I am so happy with what we have now.  Such an improvement!

Here is what it looks like today.  I may be a little spoiled.   :)
